The undenying talent that the artist has is quite spellbinding, exhibiting the eloquent beauty expressed through subjects of the painting, such as the horses, chess, clocks and more props, building up the flow of imagination to reach multiple interpretations.
The Painter and Her Journey
Mithu Biswas has spent the last seven years working on different forms of modern and contemporary art. She is one of the most intriguing arrivals among the young impressionists of today. The subject matter and style of Mithu’s painting was subject to change after his relocation to Mumbai. She still continues to paint in the modern and contemporary art style, but her subjects on the canvas now have a new surface and feel.
Great and Diverse Paintings
From her diverse subjects of paintings, the current exhibition will showcase two of her series, Chasing the Time and Horse in the Chess. Both of these series have the horses as the central figure of the painting. In chasing the time, the horses running towards the clocks (often in a very raw and mechanical format) gives the impression of the flow of time, unhinged and unsurpassable. The second series offers a deeper expression of the politics, through the use of Chess along with the horses.
A Great Narrative
The paintings are mostly in triangular or round composition, exhibiting the feel of endlessness of a narrative. Mithu has not stepped back from experimenting this theme also. He horses, illustrative in form in her early paintings, have been shaped in the recent paintings in block form. Her use of colours has become more vibrant, stylish and eye savoring. For any art enthusiast, her paintings are greatly gorgeous, and something to be ruminated about afterwards.
